The 50s era in fashion, make-up, hair and photography

50s make-up

The make up in the 50s was very glamorous looking. Woman in the 50s had very strong, arched eyebrows, thin eyeliner ending in a flick, little amount of mascara, beauty spot, red strong lips, red nails and strong red/pink cheeks. Woman where still applying a light base but it was mostly about the lips, nails and eyebrows as you can see in these images below.

 50s hairstyles

The hair in the 50s where very short scalped hair do's. Woman would also create barrel curls by removing their hair out of their face and still having a fashionable look effect style. Woman would also often wear hair pieces to create a more fuller look effect in the hair.

The fashion in the 50s

In the 50s woman's fashion still had a masculine look. As you can see with the images below woman would wear manly looking coats and have their hair short pined out of their face. Woman's dresses would also have a manly looking collar around their neck, so even though they would wear nice flawy dresses it still had a masculine look to it.

50s photography

In the 50s photographers loved to shoot with the colour pinks and reds them two colour where very popular as you can see here are some images below of models in the 50s modelling and these are not the same photographer's these images are by Vogue magazine, David French, Jean Patchett and Harpers Bezzar. The 50s was the start of a strong era for photography. Architects where also coming to America and getting involved with photographer's on shooting.
